TPU Thermoplastic Polyurethane
Polyurethane is a polymer composed of organic units joined by urethane links.Among the different varieties of polyurethane, Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) has a structure which provides properties that other types of polymers do not possess and are very useful for high performance applications.
These key properties include:
-
High resistance to wear and abrasion.
-
Very flexible at low temperatures.
-
High resistance to vegetable and animal oils and fats, mineral oils.
-
Resistance to impacts and cuts (better than PVC).
TPUs can be further classified into different groups according to their nature.

The two main groups are characterized by:

-
TPU with better resistance to hydrolysis and microorganisms and greater flexibility at low temperatures.
-
TPU with better resistance to thermal oxidation and greater resistance to oils and greases.
